Either you know how good the mountain biking is in our area or you don’t. If you don’t, let me tell you: there is great mountain biking in our area for everyone from beginners to pros. And the same weekend as the Stowe Street Arts Festival, our friends at the Vermont Mountain Bike Association will be hosting their Vermont Mountain Bike Festival, right down the road!
What is really cool about this is that it gives everyone just another excuse to have fun in Waterbury! You can walk around on Stowe Street and enjoy all the art, entertainment and food you can handle, and then roll over to the Bike Fest for some two-wheelin’ action.
Check out the Bike Fest’s schedule of events and take part in one of their clinics or rides. Being an excited novice myself, I am eying one of those beginner rides, but a little bird just told me that no matter what your ability level, there’s a ride or clinic for you. Similar to the Arts Fest where no matter what your art-taste is, there will be something amazing for you, the Bike Fest will feature rides for all abilities from beginners to intermediates, all day rides on the trails in Stowe, Waitsfield, Waterbury and Hinesburg, along with women’s clinics, gear vendors, bike demos, BBQ, live music and prizes. Registration closes Thursday, July 14 so be sure to sign up in advance!
So I hope to see you all in Waterbury July 15-17! Your list of valid excuses to not be here is getting very, very short!
