I like to try to learn something new everyday. Sometimes I stumble across new things accidentally, like did you know that the can opener was invented 48 years after the can or that the Yo-Yo originated as a weapon in the Philippine Islands during the sixteenth century? Sometimes I learn things the hard way, like I should stop the car and then try to get the bee out, or that I should wear gloves to pull Nettles out of the garden or that the maximum capacity of my grocery bags is less than a gallon of milk, a bag of flour and a bottle of wine. But most of the time I like to learn something new the easy way – by taking a class.
The Seminary Art Center in Waterbury Center is a wonderful place for you to learn a new skill, flex your creative muscles and create your very own work of art. They offer a variety of ongoing classes for both children and adults, and unique learning opportunities including summer camps and workshops. Their gallery features art shows by Vermont artists and offers a wonderful space for art themed parties. And they are not only one of the Patron Sponsors of the Stowe Street Arts Festival, but they will also have an Exhibitor’s booth so you can swing by and learn more about how you can learn something new!
