TGIF

FridayMan oh man, Friday can’t get here fast enough!! Whether you’ve been feeling Mercury in retrograde, had a long week at work, you’re itching for a weather forecase without the r-word, you’re just plain excited for this weekend’s Waterbury Arts Fest  or all of the above,  there’s great news: It’s ALMOST HERE!

In mere hours, Stowe Street will be closed and transformed into a pedestrian walkway. There will be tents that will house beer gardens, fun cutouts for you to take photos in and most importantly, two great acts that will be mesmerizing and wildly entertaining for the whole family!

Nimble Arts

Gates open at 6pm and shortly after the dazzling acrobatic twins of Nimble Arts will put on a performance that will blow you away. Identical twins, these talented ladies have a nice list of accolades for their skills and their performing resumes include work with Cirque du Soleil’s Saltimbanco, Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey, New Pickle Circus, Cirque Le Masque, and more. This is something kids of all ages will be astounded by – you have to come check it out!

Next up will be Intermission with Tom Murphy! There will be give-aways and birthday cake so don’t stray too far from the fun!

Josh Panda

Then at 7:45pm Josh Panda and the Hot Damned will take the stage! Their blend of music styles includes eclectic folk, country, Cajun, gospel, rock, story ballads and more, but if you’ve never see these guys before, all you really need to know is come ready to dance your booty off! The energy these guys perform with is amazing and infectious and you will not want to stop!

But all good things must come to an end – sort of. After our Block Party wraps up, you’ll still have a lot of options to continue dancing as many of the local restaurants and bars will be hosting their own music so the party will continue into the night.

And don’t forget, Saturday from 10am-4pm Bidwell Lane and Stowe Street will be lined with tons of incredible local artists and food vendors and there will be live music and entertainment all day long! For more information click here and see the video of last years event here.

The Waterbury Arts Fest is made possible by the continued support of our sponsors, including our Benefactor Sponsor, Waterbury Pharmacy.
