About the Artist

I am a hyperrealist artist using color, value, and intensity to capture the essence of a fleeting moment. My added details create narrative and inspiration within the artwork. I spend a lot of time in the woods skiing and hiking. Often I find scenes I wish to recreate in paint when adventuring in the outdoors. I enjoy chasing the seasonal light of Vermont in oils and watercolors. Plein air painting (French for open air) is how I create my watercolors. I find spontaneity by painting what my eye directly sees. When traveling I bring my paints to record the landscapes. Oil painting is my studio medium of choice. The intensity of the pigments and the fluidity of the paint lends itself to dramatic effects. I create my designs from studies, photos, color theory, and imagination.
